Enabling semantic interoperation of dynamic plug-in services

چکیده
Dynamic HMI generation based on declarative descriptions solves the problem of dynamically integrating services into the HMI that are not known at design/deploy time of the HMI. [Hi07] describes this approach for individual services. In this paper, we show how we have extended this approach to enable HMI generation for compositions of services and their semantic interoperation.

Interoperability Among Independently Evolving Web Services
The increasing popularity of XML Web services motivates us to examine if it is feasible to substitute one vendor service for another when using a Web-based application, assuming that these services are “derived from” a common base. If such substitution were possible, end users could use the same application with a variety of back-end vendor services, and the vendors themselves could compete on ...
متن کاملAdapting BPEL4WS for the Semantic Web: The Bottom-Up Approach to Web Service Interoperation
Towards the ultimate goal of seamless interaction among networked programs and devices, industry has developed orchestration and process modeling languages such as XLANG, WSFL, and recently BPEL4WS. Unfortunately, these efforts leave us a long way from seamless interoperation. Researchers in the Semantic Web community have taken up this challenge proposing top-down approaches to achieve aspects...
متن کاملSemantic Web Services: description requirements and current technologies
Semantic Web Services aim at providing a new level of functionality on top of the current Web and current services, by enabling automatic discovery, composition, invocation and interoperation of Web Services. Different efforts are addressing some of the requirements to enable such next generation services, with different degree of success. Nevertheless, to achieve the main goals addressed by Se...
متن کاملA Bottom-Up Approach to Automating Web Service Discovery, Customization, and Semantic Translation
The ultimate goal for the Web services effort is seamless interoperation among networked devices and programs through the development of distributed computing infrastructure and Web standards. Industry has been fast off the mark with the development of computing infrastructure such as .NET and J2EE, Web service protocols such as SOAP, and a communication-level description language in WSDL. Like...
متن کاملReaching Semantic Interoperability
There is a need in specific domains to develop strong interaction between agents using emerging technologies to facilitate communication and collaborative use of information. A successful implementation of these technologies enables interoperability based on real time and transparent information transfers to make decisions or to work on concurrent basis. New approaches using standards, which al...
